In a large skillet, pour water inside about half-way up side. Boil water over high heat.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, melt butter in microwave (put in microwave safe mug and microwave on high in 30 second increments until melted.)

Cut ends off of asparagus.

Once water boiling, add asparagus and cook for 5-8 minutes or until cooked but still crisp.

While asparagus cooking, add thyme, garlic powder to butter. Season w/ salt and pepper.

Drain asparagus and place on serving plate. Pour butter over top and sprinkle w/ parmesan cheese.
